Philosophy of Education

It all began when I learned to crack the code of reading with Dick and Jane. I am so glad that all these years later I am able to share the wonder of literacy with others.

A classroom is operating at its greatest potential when it's a place where children know they are cared for in every way. Truly loving and being concerned for my students’ growth, whether educational, emotional, or social, lends itself to being a safe space where students are willing to take personal and academic risks. I love to be curious with students. Students take ownership in my class and teach each other much more than I ever could. I believe in goal setting, listening, quality questioning, and observing students. Continuous reflection is the cornerstones of quality teaching. My passion for the craft of education is moving in a new direction as an Instructional Coach.
